Application Instructions

Cut and prefit materials prior to installation. Cut nozzle to desired bead size marked on nozzle. Puncture inner seal with nail or wire. Important: For best results, set drywall onto adhesive within 15 minutes of application.

Walls: Apply a 1/4" adhesive bead directly onto studs and plates. Press drywall firmly against adhesive; adjust as necessary. Holding drywall’s outer edges, nail every 12" on outer edges and every 16" over studs in field of the panel. Fasten center of field with nails every 16" over studs.
Note: If studding is perfectly true, nailing inside field will not be required.

Ceilings: Apply a 1/4" adhesive bead to rafters. Fasten drywall’s outer edges with nails, 12" on center. Fasten center of field with a nail at each rafter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced I used "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced" to install sheetrock on three bedroom ceilings that were finished with sprayed on acoustic / popcorn that had been painted. Since the acoustic was painted removal would be difficult so instead I installed 1/2" sheetrock over the painted acoustic and used "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced" to make sure it stayed in place. I applied the Liquid Nails in dabs or dots about the size of a silver dollar about 3/8" thick. The dabs were spaced about 12" apart in both directions then 2-1/4" drywall screws were driven into the ceiling joists at 12" on center and joists were at 24" on center. The "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced" not only increased adhesion to the old surface but aided in self leveling the sheetrock over the uneven acoustic to maintain a flat surface for taping and texturing. It has only been a few weeks since I finished the project so long term results are unknown, but it gives me peace of mind knowing the "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced" is helping to keep the sheetrock where it belongs... on the ceiling. The product was smooth and easy to apply with an open time that allowed plenty of time to get the sheets in place and installed without tacking over like other construction adhesives tend to do. On new installations direct to wood studs I would imagine that long term "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced" would prevent nail pops. On exterior walls it should reduce air infiltration into the home. I do recommend using "Liquid Nails Drywall Advanced".
